Crystal Malts

All our crystal malts are steeped, fully modified with long germination times before high temperature roasting. At the start of roasting the grain is stewed, accelerating the natural enzymatic chemical breakdown of starch to sugar which is then caramelised inside the grain during the roasting process. All our crystal malts are basically sweet in taste, but the nature of the flavour changes with colour.
