Roast Malts

Roasted malts are produced from short-germinated, kiln dried malt ( Chit Malt ) which is then roasted at high temperature, higher than those used to make crystal malts, to produce dark colours. These products are essentially toasted starch, and as such the flavours are dry, biscuit, dark chocolate and coffee-like.
